ALASKA CHRISTIAN CONFERENCE
2003 BIENNIAL ASSEMBLY

RESOLUTION 1-03

RESOLUTION ON CRISIS IN IRAQ

WHEREAS: The nations of the world have been seized by the crisis in the Middle East, most notably focused on Iraq and its suspected weapons of mass
destruction, and

WHEREAS: We commend the President of the United States for placing the matter rightly before the Security Council of the United Nations, and

WHEREAS: The Security Council has placed weapons inspection teams in Iraq, and

WHEREAS: The United Nations inspection process, even if it requires months or
years to complete, would be far less costly in lives and dollars than even a brief military conflict and invasion, and

WHEREAS: As Christian believers our first concern is for the lives of both friends and enemies, civilian and military, people of all faiths including Christian
and Muslim,

THEREFORE: We, the Alaska Christian Conference, assembled in Juneau, Alaska, February 20, 2003, call upon the President of the United States to continue support of the United Nations inspection process as long as it takes to verify the fulfillment of the U. N. Security Council Resolution 1441.

ADOPTED: February 20, 2003, at Juneau, Alaska.
