One of the great themes of Scripture, the Gospel, and the ministry and mission of Jesus (Leviticus 25; Isaiah 61:1: Luke 4:19-20).

Jubilee had three aspects:

-release from captivity
-redistribution of wealth
-renewal of the earth
 
 
                                    Jubilee 2000 is…
A worldwide movement of many churches and spiritual leaders to observe the transition to a new millenium by calling for a modern jubilee to end poverty, with a special focus on the cancellation of the unjust debt that is crippling the economies of a number of the 2/3's World Nations.

                                    Jubilee Alaska is…

The Alaska Conference of Churches' theme for its work over the next two years.  In Jubilee Alaska, the ACC is calling all churches, religious and spiritual communities and people of good will to work together to…
    1) Join with the worldwide movement of Jubilee 2000.

    2) Promote reconciliation among all Alaskans. A reconciliation that can only be based in justice for Alaska Natives, recognizing their God given authority and the right to a subsistence priority in Alaska.

    3) Call all Alaskans to good stewardship of our personal and corporate resources as people of The Great Land.

    4) Celebrate together our life in the Good News.
